Firefighter’s & Emergency Responder Employment Protection Act

Firefighter’s & Emergency Responder Employment Protection Act
The Issue
Let’s call upon our lawmakers to support the passage of the Emergency Responder Employment Protection Act previously introduced Senate by Sen. Roger Victory. This bill has new life and new support from State Representative Jaime Greene!
The Emergency Responder Employment Protection Act aims to address the challenges faced by emergency responders, across Michigan, who risk losing their jobs or face repercussions simply for answering the call to serve during times of crisis. This legislation would provide essential employment protections, including safeguards against termination or being reprimanded based on their status as emergency responders. Implementation of workplace accommodations to enable them to fulfill their duties effectively, and establish clear guidelines.
Many don’t understand the sacrifices and dedication required of our emergency responders. Some may have witnessed firsthand the challenges they face in balancing their duties with civilian employment and the impact that job insecurity can have on their morale and well-being.
I urge you to join me in advocating for the passage of this critical legislation. Reach out to your elected officials, share information about the bill with your family, friends, colleagues, local fire departments and elected officials. Let us use our voice and influence to mobilize support within our firefighting communities. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that our emergency responders are protected and supported in their vital work.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your continued dedication to the safety and well-being of our communities.
By signing this petition, we show our support for our emergency responders and urge our lawmakers to prioritize the passage of the Emergency Responder Employment Protection Act. Together, let’s ensure that our emergency responders are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.
