High school students in the past and present have experienced an environment of systematic abuse that was allowed to continue under various administrations and principles at Wharton. Todd Harvey is a serial abuser with more than 20 documented offenses toward minors in the classroom. He is a homophobic, racist, misogynistic, person who should not be a teacher at all. His immediate termination is demanded on behalf of parents and students in Hillsborough County. We demand a thorough investigation of the Hillsborough County Public Schools by the Department of Education and local law enforcement. There have been various cases where threats and intimidation tactics have been presented to students who have filed reports/ complaints against inappropriate and dangerous adult behavior. This petition is important, for we must protect our kids from people who get pleasure from bullying and harassing teenagers who are transitioning from kids to young adults. Our children already go through so much in today's society, we don't want teachers, administrators, or school board-elect counselors to get away with their ignorance and complicity in perpetuating abuse toward minors. There are already long-lasting effects as a result of his actions from 1997 to today, please don't let any more children be hurt by the carelessness of the Hillsborough County school system.
