For a long time now, Steelers fans have had to suffer with being mediocre. Consistently a 9-8 team with a first-round exit. Now, thanks to Teryl Austin, we're not even on pace to hit that anymore. With an offense that's finally firing, we're letting up close to 500 yards a game and have let up 30+ points in 4 of our 7 games so far this year. There's a reason he was fired from the Bengals in 2018 and there's no reason he should continue to live in the same city as us.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, once considered a powerhouse in the NFL, are rapidly descending into mediocrity and disappointment for the fans. Despite having an offense that has shown potential, our defensive performance is extremely underwhelming. Ancient schemes, players getting beat in coverage, and not even knowing how to tackle is simply unacceptable for a team with our history.

Teryl Austin's track record is not one of success. In 2018, he let up back-to-back 500 yard games and 50 points to the Saints which led to his termination from the Bengals, yet somehow, he has found his way to a franchise with one of the most passionate fan bases in the NFL. His defensive strategies are outdated, predictable, and simply not the standard for an NFL game.

We deserve better. We deserve a coaching staff that mirrors the ambition and legacy of our franchise, a team that consistently competes and wins at the highest level. We need changes, and changes quickly, so that our team does not continue to spiral downward. The first step in this necessary transformation is to part ways with Teryl Austin. There is no way Tomlin is let go nor our owners sell the team. What other choice do we have?

Let's bring in fresh, innovative coaching talent that can adapt and elevate our defense to the standard expected of the Steelers. We owe it to ourselves, the players, and the broader community that rallies around this team every season.
