I am a long-standing supporter and fan of Sporting Kansas City, having followed the club since its inception in 1995. The recent hiring of Gavin Wilkinson has deeply disturbed me due to his past actions during his tenure with the Portland Timbers and Thorns. It has been widely reported that Wilkinson played a role in enabling sexual harassment and contributing to systemic misogyny within these organizations.

Sporting KC is a club that claims to stand for respect, equality, and fair play. The hiring of an individual who does not reflect these values is unacceptable. It sends a dangerous message about what behavior is tolerated within our beloved club.

In 2021, it was revealed that players from the Portland Thorns had been subjected to sexual harassment during Wilkinson's time there (source: Oregon Live). This incident was part of broader issues related to gender inequality within soccer organizations across the country.

Sporting KC should be leading by example in promoting equality and respect within sports. By retaining Wilkinson's services, they are failing in this responsibility.

We call on Sporting Kansas City management to dismiss Gavin Wilkinson immediately due to his past actions which contradict our club's values. We believe this action will send a strong message about our commitment towards creating an environment free from harassment and discrimination.
