As a lifelong fan and supporter of Florida State University (FSU) athletics, I feel deeply invested in the success and reputation of our esteemed institution. Like so many others in our community, I have dedicated time, energy, and resources to cheer on the Seminoles, eagerly anticipating each season’s promise of greatness. However, the current state of our football program is nothing short of disappointing, and it is clear to many that leadership changes are urgently needed.

Under the administration of Athletic Director Michael Alford and Head Football Coach Mike Norvell, FSU football has struggled to meet the high standards we have come to expect. The Seminoles have suffered considerable setbacks on the field, evidenced by losing records and increasingly demoralizing performances in games crucial to restoring our past glory. It is not merely about losing; it's about the apparent lack of direction, strategic planning, and the failure to inspire both players and fans alike.

The disappointment is further compounded by the decisions made by the athletic department, affecting recruitment strategies and staff appointments that have not yielded the results anticipated. We are not witnessing the growth or future promise of improvement; rather, we're facing stagnation which undermines FSU's proud legacy of athletic excellence.

While change can be difficult, it is also necessary for progress. By replacing both Alford and Norvell, FSU can begin a new chapter—one characterized by a renewed focus on strategic leadership, effective player development, and robust community engagement. New leadership should be aligned with the core values of FSU and committed to rebuilding trust and credibility within the fan base.

This petition is an appeal to the Board of Trustees and university administration to act in the best interest of FSU’s future. We believe that by initiating a search for a dynamic, forward-thinking athletic director and a coach with a proven track record of success, FSU can once again rise to prominence within college football.
