After this interview, Liverpool fans all over the world should know the truth.

For those who haven't read, heard, or saw the interview, Slot has claimed that the reason Liverpool won the Premier League last season was because they lost to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions' League Round of 16. Not only is this untrue (Liverpool were already 16 points clear of second place by the Round of 16, and only won 4 out of the remaining 9 Premier League games), but it also shows that Slot's capabilities and Liverpool's ambitions are incompatible.

Slot has basically admitted that he can't manage competing in several competitions at once, and Liverpool hs always been a club that aims to go far in every competition possible. By also citing Liverpool's relative lack of Premier League trophies (2 in the last 30 years), Slot has also tried to excuse this year's horrid form, and his lousy tactics, by comparing himself to other Liverpool managers over the years. That includes none other than Jürgen Klopp, who in 2018-19 won the Champions League and finished only one point behind Manchester City in the Premier League.

This is an insult, not just to Liverpool's current players (seven of which still remain from the double-winning 2021-22 squad), but to every Liverpool player and manager in history who has been part of a team that pushed to go all the way. It is also a massive insult to the Liverpool fans, who pay increasingly-expensive prices for tickets, club merchandise, and subscriptions to support Liverpool through every stage of every competition.

There's only one solution for a manager who manages to insult the current and former players, the former coaches, and every fan affiliated with the club in one interview. And, by now, I think we all know what it is.
