Liverpool has just beaten Newcastle 4-1 at Anfield. Although it was a deserved victory, it does not erase the fact that we have seen time after time this season: Arne Slot's tactics and man-management style do not work with Liverpool.

To sack Slot in the middle of the season is admittedly risky, especially considering the January transfer window closes in less than 24 hours. However, there is a FAR greater risk posed by keeping Slot at Liverpool. The same poor performances and shortcomings are bound to reappear, and as the season gets closer to the end, Liverpool could end up missing out on the Champions' League, which would greatly  limit the club's financial prospects to rebuild and replenish. Therefore, sacking Arne Slot and replacing him with a manager who represents the ethos and passion of Liverpool FC is a risk worth taking.

George R.R. Martin once said “The man who fears losing has already lost.” Right now, Liverpool FC isn't a team who anticipates winning, but one that fears losing. And Arne Slot does not inspire confidence. He spikes fear in Liverpool fans--fear that he'll start the wrong line-up, play our players in positions that don't suit them, or make the wrong substitutions at the wrong time. He makes Liverpool fans fear that he'll leave a much-loved favorite out of the lineup, or say something gauche in a press conference. He makes Liverpool fans afraid to believe.

Why should Liverpool keep somebody who makes us afraid to believe?
