Canada student loan petition for change 

Ever since February 2024, my friend who’s a women and as well many others faced bullying and harassment from someone under name Aldena Deveau over getting a college education, they studied at NSCC. Graduated 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic which has been a challenging time for them. Didn’t get good job opportunities and paycheques are very low wage. 

what’s been taking place all 2024

First: They received soliciting mail over student loan they thought didn’t have to pay since my friend made below $40’000 which is the threshold. (Later in the story it gets better) Aldena Deveau was using inappropriate grammar which never made any sense, saying they’ll give them a lien which my friend doesn’t own a home or even drive. They threaten to steal my friends GST/Tax returns for their own gain which they still get thankfully. 

Next: Aldena Deveau again used inappropriate grammar such as (monies). Offensively used King Charles name which is over in UK, we are Canadians and our own country. I’m sure King Charles doesn’t need money from the low and middle income earners. Not sure why someone puts Bailiff and sheriff fees, which is a term used for criminals, I know my friend isn’t one because they went to college for get ahead.  

Lastly: this year 2025, my friend actually found out their provincial Nova Scotia student loan has been forgiven which been good news. Received the letter from old address, we were honestly glad that N.S. government has this in place for new graduates. 

Now: Aldena Deveau been trying to solicit them again for money VIA email over student loan they no longer don’t owe. My friend allow us to share the big email of lies that Aldena Deveau sent to them. First: stating CRA sent them my friends money which is not true because of changed guidelines. Second: Nova Scotia eliminated interest on all student loans. Third: Nova Scotia has statute of limitations which is 2 years to collect any type of debt. Lastly: threaten wage garnish towards my friend whose student loans are already forgiven. 

Reason why we made this petition is so that Aldena Deveau can be fired from their job. We appreciate many signatures to make that happen and give my friend a break, same with many others that Aldena Deveau been victimizing. If they are stealing from my friend wages, they have a right to sue N.S. Government for misleading, false information and potentially trying to harm their financial wellbeing which can put them further in poverty.  

These threats, bullying and harassment really does have my friend in fear. I do have a Canada student loan page to advocate. Please sign this petition and end this hate. Imagine if it was your daughter, sister, cousin, friend or neighbour going through this treatment. It’s very unethical and not Nova Scotia way.
