Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is currently the most recent cartoon adaptation of the TMNT. While for all intents and purposes, the series is complete, this is because Nickelodeon had the staff rush out an ending partway through season 2, despite there being over a dozen episodes written and ready to produce. If a TV show is cut short, it should be because it was genuinely bad, not because of pre-judgements on the animation and poor marketing.

This show was good, if not great. It had comedy but got serious when it needed to. The characters developed as the show progressed, and the acting was on point. While the rushed ending was good in its own right, it doesn’t change the fact that Rise literally had more to offer, and that staff’s efforts were crudely thrown away.

Nickelodeon failed to see the potential Rise of the TMNT had but they could likely bring it back if they were so inclined.
