Petition looking for public support of Cllr Rob O'Donoghues motion to have a footpath and traffic calming measures installed on the Ministers Road on the way out to the R132.

Recent weeks have seen a large increase in the numbers of Lusk residents using the road. A lack of footpath on Ministers Road between Dun Emer and the R132 junction makes the area particularly hazardous for pedestrians, the installation of a footpath and traffic calming measures such as VAS speed readers would significantly reduce potential accidents occuring to both pedestrians and motorists.

'That the CE have works carried out to alleviate the serious issue of speeding on the Ministers Road, Lusk from the number of vehicles driving at excessive speeds on Ministers Road between Dun Emer and the R132 junction. There is no footpaths on the stretch of road and with the Covid restrictions the volume of pedestrians using the road to exercise/walk has increased markedly. There is a pressing need for a footpath to be installed and traffic calming measures to be erected at this location prior to a serious accident taking place.'
