My name is Medhansh and I am a 8-year-old from Hyderabad. Some states already have laws on the limit for brightness of headlights and high-beams while driving. Yet many people are violating this openly.

Car and two wheeler manufacturers are fitting more and more bright headlights in their new products due to technology advances. There is no limit in terms of brightness (Lumens). This coupled with use of high beams will eventually destroy eye sight of many of car/two wheeler drivers, and children like me who have no option but take all the light into our eyes.

I would like all our dear Ministers to acknowledge this issue and ensure 'optical' health of all indians. Sign my petition asking our Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to specify the legal limit for headlight brightness and ensure the strict implementation of the law to save our sight. Those who break the rules should be fined. Also, the practice of blackening the top half of headlight (within city limits atleast) should be restarted to cut down on use of high beams.
