This tragedy unfolded because social media algorithms and mainstream media amplified personal opinions as facts, and recklessly, members of Congress and celebrities encouraged average American citizens to engage in futile and fatal confrontations with armed federal agents, instead of urging them to demand changes from Congress, the very institution that holds the power to amend immigration laws.
