In September 1999, Marian Joan Hurley of Hood County, TX vanished without a trace. She was last seen at her home near the deCordova/Three Oaks area. Despite extensive concern from friends, neighbors, and family, her case has gone unsolved for more than 25 years.

Early reports in the Hood County News documented the community’s shock and law enforcement’s initial search. By July 2000, headlines still read “Woman Still Missing.” Investigators noted troubling circumstances and suspicion fell close to home, yet no one has ever been held accountable.

Today, her loved ones and members of this community remain heartbroken that Marian has never been found, and justice has never been served. Time has not erased the pain, it has only deepened it.

We believe Marian’s case deserves renewed urgency. Hood County residents should not have to wonder if a missing woman’s life can simply be forgotten. We are calling on law enforcement to reopen this investigation with modern tools and resources, pursue leads thoroughly, and finally bring answers to Marian’s family and community.
