People with Credit Records are being rejected for job opportunities by other employers, particularly Insurance companies and Financial institutions in general. No one choose to be unemployed and No one will be able to settle their debts without an income Credit Record is not a Criminal Record, employ us so that we can settle our debts and clear our names. It's unusual and very rare to have your accounts in arrears or owing the third parties while employed. I am appealing to the government, employers and any relevant stakeholders to be lenient and assist us in having this policy reviewed. "I was employed and decided to buy myself a car in order to get to work in time because public transport was a problem where I lived. Unfortunately few months later I lost my job and surrendered the car, I was told by the Bank that I need to pay a settlement amount of R57k of which I didn't have and still never had since I lost my job". I am willing to pay my settlement and clear my name should I find a job again, my qualifications and work experience favours me to work in Insurance companies and Financial institutions of which are the ones who do not employ people with a Credit Record. It's really frustrating because it needs one to be employed and receive income in order to pay their debts. Someone please take this into consideration and help us.
