OPEN LETTER TO FINANCE MINISTER OF INDIA AND RBI GOVERNOR

Respected Madam and Sir

Writing this Open letter in the backdrop of ongoing COVID-19 scenario and common man’s fears associated with it. I am like anyone of you all, a businessman, an employee, an employer, or a banker. My request to the Finance Minister of India-Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman; Governor of Reserve bank of India- Mr. Shaktikanta Das is to make sure that banks either waive or suspend Interest rate on loan amounts in the duration of COVID 19 Impact.

COVID-19 is devastatingly affecting small businesses, workers and non-salaried employees. They are facing the fear of getting into the toughest water including losing their entire set up and livelihood. Waiving of bank interest rates on loans for this Covid-19 pandemic duration would help people in relieving financial pressure, allow them to stay at home from work without the added concern of losing their housing and also limit the spread of the virus.

Our government should act in a responsible way for waiving/suspension of interest charged by the bank during the Coronavirus pandemic.

This is the need of the hour and would be a great help to all.
