BC's Atlantic Fish Farm industry is unsustainable, as the fish feed is made from white fish meat caught in South America. This is causing a collapse in the food web in South America and is in direct competition with the Indigenous peoples, who rely on the same fish for their food fishery.

In BC the seafloor under these fish farms once vibrant with life are laid to waste by the build up of toxic chemicals used to protect the fish and fish debris and waste from the farm's operation.

Fin is a strong voice for healthy oceans and sustainable fisheries. Fin introduced the Wild Salmon Protection Act that would require BC fish farms to transition from harmful open-net fish farms to safe closed (sustainable) containment systems.
