Filmmakers and artists strongly condemn the suppression by security forces and signed to support journalists, activists, students and people in Iran.

Outrage over the murder of 22-year-old Mahsa (Jina) Amini by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s morality police has sparked widespread protests in Iran with women taking the lead, united with men, their slogan ‘Woman, Life, Freedom’ has captured the world’s attention. Whilst protests continue in numerous cities, the government has heightened its arrests of women’s rights activists, journalists, and dissenters. They have cut off the internet preventing independent news being spread while they are killing and wounding many people, mostly the very young. We, the undersigned, stand in solidarity with the brave women and men in Iran. We condemn the Islamic Republic of Iran’s attacks and killings of protestors as well as the many arrests, including the following journalists, activists, and students. There are many too whose names have not yet been identified.  They must be immediately and unconditionally released:
