For me the real problem in our country as a Filipino is our honesty. The root of all our problem is our attitude towards others and especially to our country. Honesty in all of the things we do must be applicable always, be compassionate on people who needs our arms to support them to build their personality. Our biggest problem is simply the lack of common sense and basic honesty. These are elements of reality that reside in the unseen world of the mind and heart. And we will never really rise up above this tide that drowns each passing generation when our teachers, parents, politicians and priests are bankrupt, with nothing of genuine value to pass on to our youth. Because these are not really passed on to the youth through just words as powerful we may think they can be but by example through our actions. Compassion and concern are also similar, and a basic part of the fabric of most societies. Imagine living in a society where the less fortunate were simply ignored, or worse. It has happened under certain repressive regimes over the last century, and it wasn’t pretty. For me, it’s not hard to show the very true feelings from my heart to strange people I meet in my life, no matter where they are from or how they are.  I believe compassion and honesty is the key to shorten the distance between “you” and “me” and create a united society.
