Problem
The said memorandum aims to remove Filipino Subjects in new GE Curriculum.CHED said it will for a final decision from Supreme Court to implement of excluding Filipino and other Panitikan as a required College Subjects. The removal of Filipino subjects impacts the college teachers who teach Filipino not only in terms financially but also as educators of their own language and culture. In accordance to the proposed revisions of the new curriculum, Filipino subjects are no longer to be taught in college but to be transferred to senior high school. The controversial decision of CHED caught the attention of various sectors in the country, including some 30,000 to 80,000 professors and teachers of the Filipino language in secondary and tertiary levels who may lose their jobs or get displaced as a result.

Solution
It is not bad to idolize some languange in other country but it is not good idea to change our own language because it is our identity. We must use and be proud of it.
To end, let me borrow a paragraph from Michael Tan’s essay. He wrote, “If we want a national language, and respect for all our Philippine languages, our young must grow up hearing and using these languages as part of daily practice—not just for casual conversations but as the language of transaction for science, business, the arts. It must be a daily practice that becomes part of us, part of the way we think, and live.”So it is not good to exclude Filipino Subject in the New Curriculum. It would probably be nice if Filipino subjects in college would incorporate the mastery of another dialect. It would probably be even better if we could all learn Baybayin.

Personal story
Filipino subjects have been taught in all colleges and universities in the Philippines as part of the General Education Curriculum (GEC) for the tertiary level.I'm a current Senior High student and I love Filipino Subject.Filipino is a beautiful language that is quite easy to grasp. However, a quick tour on Facebook or any other social media site will reveal that there are still a lot of Filipinos who do not know the balarila or Filipino grammatical rules. While most people are quick to correct those who make English grammar mistakes, we are not as keen when it comes to Filipino grammar mistakes. he importance of being knowledgeable in Filipino is that as Filipinos, it is what binds us as countrymen of the Philippines. It does not only teach us to be good at speaking in Filipino or to be well-versed at knowing “pangngalan, pang-uri at pang-abay”, but also it showcases Filipino as a common language and Filipino as a culture. Thus, this also means that being knowledgeable in Filipino also determines that you really are a true Filipino, keeping the true essence of nationalism. It isn’t just about preserving the jobs of our Filipino language teachers. More important than anything, preserving and promoting the language of a nation is paramount to preserving its patrimony
