Renee Pierce is under investigation, again, for animal cruelty.  She has already been convicted of abandoning a dog in freezing temperatures and now there is video of her abusing another dog.  Charges have been filed against this woman, but let’s make sure the County Attorney follows through.  Also, have Polk County Law Enforcement officials taken the word of this serial abuser that the dogs have been rehomed?  Given that she was convicted of leaving an animal to die on the side of the road, have Law Enforcement officials done their due diligence to ensure the animals have not been discarded again?  Or, are they giving this family a pass because a household member is a City Councilman?  Let’s be a voice for the helpless against abusers and pressure the District Attorney and the Sheriff to do the right thing, not the easy thing.
