Help FIGHT the zoning request! Developers want to turn a 16-acre residential lot into a junk yard. The land is next to residences and Antioch-Lithonia Baptist Church, near Turner Hill Rd and Union Grove Rd. The zoning change would turn this pastoral setting from R-85 to M (Light Industrial), which allows many uses that are anathema to the neighborhood. The applicant has a junk car/wrecker service business, but once he gets the zoning change, he could use it for a variety of auto and truck sales & service businesses, adult entertainment, pawn shop, liquor store, and other activities that people don't want in their backyards. This will devastate the community.

There is plenty of land already zoned light industrial in Dekalb and neighboring counties. The applicant needs to look at those options and leave this neighborhood alone! The Dekalb County Board of Commissioners will vote on Thursday, July 28 so we need these signatures now. PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION urging the Board to reject/deny the zoning change.
