Fight Female Genital Mutilation

The Issue

PLEDGE to be a Global Citizen and stand with us in the fight against Female Genital Mutilation.

More than 125 million women and girls alive today have been subjected to Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). FGM is recognized internationally as a violation of human rights.

Not only does FGM provide no health benefits, it can lead to complications like severe bleeding, problems urinating, cysts, infections, infertility, complications in childbirth, and an increased risk of newborn deaths.

Will you sign the pledge and JOIN us in the fight against the horrific practice of Female Genital Mutilation?

FGM isn’t isolated to one community, culture, or country. It is commonly practiced in 27 African countries, as well as parts of the Middle East and Indonesia; even in countries that have made FGM illegal, it continues in secret.

The only way we will end the human rights violation of FGM is by standing up for the rights of women & girls worldwide. PLEDGE to stand with us as we fight to end FGM once and for all.
