New figures show that in 10 years the number of Australians with dementia is expected to increase by almost 50 per cent – up to 385,000 people. Alzheimer’s disease is also one of the fastest growing major disease burdens Australia faces; by 2050 there will be almost 1 million people with dementia. A report commissioned by Alzheimer’s Australia, Dementia Across Australia, shows that every Federal Electorate will experience the severity of the country’s looming dementia epidemic.
