Hello y'all!
I am reaching out to formally introduce myself and provide a few updates.
My name is Drew Bufalo, and I study neuroscience here at Mizzou. I am also the founder of Students for Human Intelligence (SHI), an organization that seeks to promote human-centered education. Firstly, I would like to thank you all for signing our petition! Every signature counts, and we rely on people like you who make their voices heard. As a budding scientist and educator, I believe that education is power. That is why our nation's institutions of higher learning were among the first targets of the Trump administration. As citizens, we must defend our education from not only the current administration but from Big Tech billionaires who know that an uneducated population is a submissive population.
UPDATES:
- Our first action as an organization will be to compile a list of ALL Mizzou courses taught with the assistance of AI and publish it for students to see. We are doing this because we believe that it is every student's right to opt out of AI-integrated courses.
- We are trying to establish SHI as an official student organization, but we need a faculty sponsor. If you know any professors who would be interested in working with us, please contact me.
