Fight against Animal Cruelty around Cavite Province, Paw Lives Matter

Fight against Animal Cruelty around Cavite Province, Paw Lives Matter
The Issue
We, people in cavite province should address this problem or atleast reduce the cases of animal cruelty/abuse. Due to this animals developed stress, PTSD from physical abuse, scars, wounds, and possible more brutal/fatal injuries. Some didn't survived and died/passed away on the spot. This also affects the children around us who see abuse may grow up thinking hurting others is acceptable. It will ruin our community's reputation/image. Lastly the neglected animals may spread diseases due to not being give proper food, shelter, medical, and hygiene.
If this sort of problem hasn't been resolved and it goes on. More animals will suffer from pain, hunger, injuries, stress and even death. Many animals could become more aggresive and fearful to us people due to their past trauma/PTSD. Some species might even face extinction if abuse and neglection continues. We may see more cases of diseases spreading from neglected or abuse animals such as:
- Rabies - Spread through bites or scratches, can be deadly if untreated.
- Leptospirosis - From animals waste such as urine, can cause fever, kidney, and liver damage.
- Ringworm - A skin fungus causing itchy rashes, easily spread by touch
- Parasites (fleas, ticks, worms) - can lead to infections
- Toxoplasmosis - From cat feces. Incredibly dangerous towards pregnant woman and for those who has weak immune system
and lastly, it destroys the values of compassion, kindness and respect for life.
5 solutions to reduce animal abuse.
1. Foster Compassion Through Education & Awareness.
- Teach respect and compassion, especially to children, so they grow up valuing and protecting animals rather than harming them.
- Raise awareness in your community by sharing facts on social media, organizing school talks, or simply discussing the issue with friends and neighbors.
2. Report and Intervene Safely
- If you witness abuse or neglect, take action - but prioritize your safety. Avoid physical confrontation; rather, document what you see and report it to the authorities or local animal welfare organizations.
3. Support and Strengthen Animal Protection Laws
- Advocate for better enforcement of these laws - prosecutors and humane officers need sufficient authority and training to act.
4. Adopt, Foster, Volunteer or Donate
- Adopting or fostering animals from shelters gives them loving homes and reduces euthanasia and abandonment.
- Volunteer your time at shelters or rehabilitation centers to help with animal care, enrichment, and adoption efforts.
- Donate, whether money, supplies, food, or your skills - every bit helps keep shelters running and rescues rehabilitated.
5. Choose Cruelty-Free Products & Lifestyles
- Support cruelty-free brands - products not tested on animals or containing animal-derived components. Seek labels like Leaping Bunny or PETA-approved.
- Avoid entertainment that exploits animals such as circuses or animal racing.
- Reduce or eliminate animal-based foods. Dietary choices like veganism or plant-based options help decrease demand for factory farming, a major source of animal suffering.
