Give Mexico's World Cup spot to a team of World All-Stars whose countries didn’t make it!

The Issue

Mexico clearly don't deserve to be in the 2014 World Cup, to be played in Brazil. Mexico only won two out of ten games in its qualification campaign. Were it not for a pair of goals from Graham Zusi and Aron Jóhannsson, players for the U.S. men's national team, against Panama, Mexico would have already been eliminated, deservedly watching from the sidelines.

What's more, even Mexico knows it.

Instead, Mexico is playing New Zealand in a World Cup qualifying playoff. In the first leg, played in Mexico, Mexico won 5-1, all but guaranteeing themselves a spot in next year's World Cup.

This is patently unfair.

Meanwhile, Egypt, which went 7-1 in qualifying, is eliminated from the World Cup, thanks to a single lopsided loss in Ghana. Sweden, which features the dazzling Zlatan Ibrahimović, won't be there. Iceland, which has a young, exciting team, won't either. Nor will Ukraine.

You get the point. The solution is simple: replace Mexico with a team of World All-Stars whose countries didn't make it!

If FIFA 14 can do it, why can't FIFA? Imagine a team with Ibrahimović, Anatoliy Tymoshchuk, Aron Einar Gunnarsson, Gylfi Þór Sigurðsson, Mirko Vučinić, Stevan Jovetić, and others. Sure beats watching Chicharito muff another sitter in front of goal, or watching Rafa Marquez loll about the field disinterestedly...right?

We can make it happen. Join us. Make their dreams come true.
