The Issue

FIDE women's titles should not exist, they are very unfair and illogical, and in fact, they are insulting to female players as well. Firstly, they are much easier to get than normal FIDE titles, and they are given out way too much in junior/zonal events. The new rating minimums for direct titles is a good start, but being able to win a title with 1800 rating is ridiculous. In addition, it is illogical that female players can get both women's titles and regular FIDE titles. This means female players can win twice as many titles as male players, which is completely unfair and unreasonable. Ironically, FIDE women's titles are a complete insult to female players, as creating a title that is for women but much easier to achieve suggests suggests that women are not good enough to get normal titles. In conclusion, FIDE women's titles completely fail at their original goal of promoting female chess, and instead create unfair titles which is an unfair advantage as well as a direct insult at women's chess.
