Petition updateBin the proposed charges for garden waste collections in FenlandCouncillors to discuss brown bin collections

This Thursday (14th July) there will be a full meeting of Fenland District Council councillors. The ONLY item on the agenda is "Garden Waste". The discussion will be lead by Richard Cassidy. He is the council's "Corporate Director".
Although I'm surprised that the council is discussing the changes while the consultation is still on-going, I don't know whether our petition or the front-page news coverage we've received has forced this meeting to take place. What I do know is that we can make sure that many councillors are aware of the tide of public opinion against the proposals as they stand.
Let's have one more big push. If you haven't already done so, please share this petition with your friends. If we want our voice to be represented at the meeting on Thursday then the more signatures the better.
In the meantime I'll try to get more press coverage and will make contact with some of the councillors who are due to attend the meeting to make sure that they know just how much support our petition now has. I'm amazed that I more or less blinked on Friday and missed the petition smash the 1,000 signature mark! Thank you all!
Best wishes,
Lawrence
