Fence our neighborhood for safety and security
The Issue
In our neighborhood, safety and security are more than just concerns - they're absolute necessities. Recently, there have been threats from both roaming animals and unwanted intruders. On Rovello, residents have repeatedly reported sightings of a loose pitbull, causing fear and anxiety among families and children. Just a month ago, a pack of 4-6 stray dogs was seen loose on Arezzo, creating distress and posing a potential danger to anyone who crosses their path. Someone in a white hoodie broke into a car on Veronese drive. A year ago someone with a gun ran into our neighborhood to hide from the cops. In December 2024, 3 stray dogs were running all over villagio. June 2025 another pack of dogs (one brown, one black) were seen running in villagio. May 2025 a pack of dogs roamed through a neighbor's yard. One neighbor was cornered in a patio by a stray dog and luckily the home owner was able to open the door and let the lady inside of the house.
Moreover, many residents have observed strangers, presumably from the lower socioeconomic areas such as those adjacent to Whorley Rd, Thrift Street, and State Park Road, entering our neighborhood with questionable intentions. This has raised concerns about possible thefts and the overall safety of our community.
A practical and effective solution to these serious issues is the construction of a fence around our neighborhood, at least adjacent to the areas of concern. A fence would not only protect our homes and properties but also ensure that our children can play outside without the fear of encountering dangerous animals or strangers. It would establish a clear boundary and deter any potential intruders, making our neighborhood a safer place to live.
According to the National Association of Home Builders, fencing not only provides security but also adds to the property value of homes. It serves as the first line of defense against both human and animal intrusions, a need that can no longer be overlooked for the wellbeing of our community members.
Let's come together as a neighborhood to urge the local authorities to prioritize our safety by installing a fence. Our lives and property need this crucial protection, and your support can make this happen. Please sign this petition to voice our collective demand for a secure and safeguarded environment for all residents.
