Female Athlete's New Shoe

Female Athlete's New Shoe
The Issue
I love sports. Basketball,Track, and Cross Country are my favorite sports to play. You can find me on the court, the track, and on the trail in my spare time.
One day I went to Dick’s Sporting Goods store to pick up a pair of basketball shoes. As I walked over to the girls section I noticed there was only one type of shoe: a pink and black type. I was shocked to see only one type of shoes in the girls section since, they are such big shoppers. Since there was a limited selection, I went to the men's section to find a whole wall of men’s shoes ,including Jordan’s and Lebron’s, but none in my size.
As a young female athlete I look up to many professional players like: Sylvia Fowles, Breanna Stewart, Tina Charles, along with many more. Under Armour’s slogan is “Sports can change the world,” and Marilyn Monroe said, “Give a girl the right pair of shoes and she can conquer the world,” which describes how a girl feels when she gets a new pair of shoes. If a girl gets a shoe with a popular player’s name on it, she’s going to feel famous and feel good about being on the court or on the track, which helps with Under Armour’s philanthropie to help improve athletic programs.
If there are shoes named after female athletes, girls are likely to stay and play sports for longer which would have a big impact on them later in life. 40% of girls in grades 6-8 say sports are a big part of who they are, but those numbers drop to 28% when they reach high school. Having more role models make girls feel valued and they would stay in sports hoping to make into the WNBA. Under Armour’s Power in Pink is dedicated to fighting breast cancer and if girls play sports during adolescence and young adulthood they are 20% less likely to get breast cancer.
As a young female I would like to change the way companies think of girls. I want girls to be confident in not only the way they look but the way they feel too. Female athletes play in the summer and barely anyone knows it. We can change that by advertising a professional female athlete’s shoe. If you want to help women be more valued in athletic events and in the world sign up today.
