FEMA: Help Save the Kampsville Inn/Continue Flood Insurance for the Kampsville Inn

The Issue

An agent from the Iowa Homeland Security & Emergency Management Division, acting on behalf of FEMA, is trying to cancel flood insurance and shut down the Kampsville Inn, located in Kampsville Illinois. The Kampsville Inn is not just a Historic Building in the town of Kampsville it is the major source of revenue for the city. It is the citys biggest employer with over 35 people, those of which would be jobless if FEMA has their way. The current owner Louis Hazelwood has own and operated this family restaurant for 28 years. The restaurant is located on the Illinois River right next to the ferry crossing on IL HWY 108 and ocassionally gets flooded. FEMA is saying they will not renew the flood insurance which would put the Kampsville Inn out of business. Please sign this petition in support of the Kampsville Inn being able to maintain its flood insurance.
