FEMA Flood Insurance Price Hikes

FEMA Flood Insurance Price Hikes
With FEMA’s new Flood 2.0 Risk Rating strategy, they are making flood insurance completely unaffordable.
Why is this?
Being that FEMA falls under the Department of Homeland Security, are the typical FEMA funds being allocated elsewhere?
FEMA is only allocated 31% of the 2022 DHS budget, while the Customs and Border Protection is allocated 18%.
Whereas, in 2021, FEMA was only allocated 19% and the CBP was allocated 24%.
However, as we have all seen, the CBP hasn’t been successful in it’s supposed priorities per the DHS website, so why is this department still getting so much funding?
With the Government providing assistance to nearly anybody and everybody else in The United States, why are they not stepping in to find a solution to this ever growing problem?
Coastal communities are footing the bill of the government’s expenditures that they deem more important. Ask anyone living in a city, town, or parish if their flood insurance rates have increased in 2022 and it’s guaranteed they will say yes and that their rates have increased a lot more than $10 per month.
We need answers and solutions now, not just words.
