Avert the denial of employment to non violent felony offenders.
Avert the denial of employment to non violent felony offenders.
The Issue
This is important because non violent offenders are being denied employment strictly based on their backgrounds. The denial lies within background screening companies that have the final word on applicants becoming employees of a company or business. This is being conducted even though these companies aren't reviewing applicants’s resumes or interviewing these non violent offending felony applicants and deciding if they are qualified to hold potential positions based on their qualifications and/or skill sets. As non violent offending felons, they are not being given equal rights in America, a place where everyone is supposed to have equal rights. They are barred from a vast number of companies based on their backgrounds which are non violent offenses. The National Association of Professional Background Screeners basically states that the purpose of background screening is to keep violent offenders at bay, even though they too, deserve to be employed.
