We are two girls in year 6 who are passionate about horses and horse rights. Recently we have looked into dressage and the controversy surrounding it. We have realized how harmful the rollkur (hyperflexion) is to the horse. Therefore we have researched this topic and decided to take action. We soon came to the realization that most of the problem of the rollkur is judges and rules not being strict enough. Awareness should be raised between equestrians to spread the word to end the rollkur once and for all. Nosebands should be checked before performance. Riders using the rollkur technique should be disqualified. These beautiful creatures don’t deserve the pain they get. They don’t deserve what we put them through.
