Since 2019, Eric Caldwell has scammed college grads out of their money and personal information through the organizations Amerifed Doc Prep and Cornerstone Doc Prep. They pretend to be affiliated with the Dept of Education over the phone and promise to consolidate student loans for fees of at least $799, charging $39 monthly. Amerifed and Cornerstone refuse to resolve student complaints by using a fake California address and a phone number that is hardly ever available.

I am asking the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to do a legal investigation, which may necessitate litigation, to help stop these criminal activities and grant the victims their well-deserved refunds. The FTC has taken similar action against such scammers before in 2019:

In the middle of a global pandemic and economic crisis, Amerifed and Cornerstone continue to behave without restraint, but I hope that this petition can demonstrate to the FTC the scope of the problem and the necessity for action.

Enough is enough! It's time for the government to act!
