FTC investigate Kohl's for major bait and switch during Black Friday 2018

The Issue

Problem
Kohl's Department Stores used bait and switch tactics with their 2018 Black Friday advertisement. This has been a common practice for this retailer, however, as we can see thousands of similar complaints about Kohl's in websites like Consumers report. They offer items online that show as IN STOCK during the sale period and several hours later cancel the item out of the placed orders. The length of time between the order being placed and the item being canceled by Kohl's is unacceptable. During this time people paying with debit cards are affected the most as banks will usually place authorization holds, even if the retailer doesn't receive the money, which affects the consumer in multiple ways. Especially when they are trying to do shopping in a time frame.

Solution
If you are a customer and have been affected by the Kohl's Black Friday ad, I invite you to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, Customer Protection Bureau through their website:

FTC needs to address these complaints to Kohl's and compare their practices to other retailers. The bundles that they advertised were sold at manufacturer discount prices. Other major retailers have been able to fulfill their online orders way better than Kohl's with people actually being able to get the items.

Personal story
Hi! My name is Julissa. I have been a Kohl's loyal customer for five years now, ever since I moved to the midwest. This is the second time that Kohl's had canceled an item on an order after it was IN STOCK on their website. I wanted to get the PS4 Spiderman bundle from Kohls for $199 since they were offering the $60 Kohls cash on top of the discount. I placed my order at 12:01 central time and I received the email confirmation from Kohl's at 12:02 am on November 22nd. After I placed my order, I checked the item and confirmed it was listed as IN STOCK for a while. Next morning, I checked my order status to find out that the PS4 bundle had been canceled. At this time other retailers showed their bundles as Out of Stock online. Kohls system didn't notify me of this change until 9:03 PM on November 22nd. I believe that Kohls had no intention of selling these bundles online, or at all. They allowed us to continue ordering an item that was out of stock the same minute the sale went live. The same behavior has been noticed with other doorbuster items and this has impacted hundreds of customer this year. I believe that this is becoming all way too common and it has to be stopped.
