23 Nov 2015, Rob Mitchell, Federal Member Parliament, Federal Labor Member for McEwan spoke in Parliament (Parliament House, Canberra, ACT, Australia) today about Asbestos Awareness Month, in particular about the widespread impact of Mesothelioma diagnosis. It was my great pleasure to highlight the extraordinary effort of Lou Williams, a resident of McEwen who has tirelessly advocated on behalf of victims and for improved access to vital medications. (Lou's comment: Thank you Rob for standing up and speaking to the house in Parliament about Asbestos Week, highlighting my campaign to get Keytruda on our PBS for others to have this option of treatment for mesothelioma without the expense of having to fund it themselves. When on Keytruda for Mesothelioma it is every 3 weeks a Keytruda infusion, so can be very expensive - it currently works out depending on your weight $6,106 to $11,000 per treatment).
