The Government is trying to ban the sale of Menthol Cigarettes. 

Why are we the people allowing our government to control everything we do? Their statistics are specifically pointing out Blacks and minority's. Why is it ok to racially profile the use of menthol cigarettes? 

Understandably, the risks of smoking are extremely high and can cause many  health issues. Just like alcohol causes health problems. But, to target menthol cigarettes as a reason that kids try smoking is ridiculous. I never met a person that started using meth because they sold it in a flavor. Point being made that it will not stop people from smoking.  It will also not stop a kid from smoking.

This is a way to pack prisons, and jails with new criminals. This is a new way for the Government to use to make money, create government jobs and for more policing. This is just more reasons to micromanage people. The more they micromanage, the more shootings, and people rebelling against the law. Once something is made illegal, the more appealing it becomes to people.

The government allows women to make their own choice whether or not to have an abortion. As well as to use medical marijuana as a medication. As it should be. But we as a human race of all nationalities, religion, wealth, minority, etc., Are not being allowed to make our own decision about menthol cigarettes? Our life, our health, our choice. Smokers are not going to be allowed to purchase menthol cigarettes. What a absolutely crazy way to control us yet again.  They haven't ban the flavored liquor that kills people everyday. Flavours of all sorts, hundreds of flavored alcoholic beverages. The use of flavored alcoholic beverages is a gateway to being an alcoholic, and possibly driving under the influence and killing someone. Possibly drinking well before the age of 21. How come alcoholic beverages aren't illegal?  We can send our 18 year old child to the military. But people can't make our own choice about smoking a menthol cigarette? 

Yes, I understand my health could be at Jeopardy. I know that my risks are as great of a risk as regular cigarettes. I don't believe that a kid will try just a menthol cigarette. I don't think that we should allow our government to steal our civil liberties, and our rights as individuals. 

You may not agree with smoking, and we all can agree that it's polite to not smoke around kids and people that are in public areas and we have respect for you. The government needs to Quit stealing our rights. Stop using menthol cigarettes as another way to control us. This is going to become bigger than the drug wars are now. Do you think that we need more reasons for the sales of another illegal substance. How is this going to help cut crime and costs? How is this necessary to keep a country running? Why must we micromanage yet another thing.
