Canadians recognize that it's police forces are ill equipped, improperly trained and lack the necessary expertise to interject and resolve issues of mental health, substance abuse and provide tactful de-escalation of potentially violent situations.  Funding for police forces is excessive and would be better re-directed towards violence prevention programs, youth homelessness programs, an opioid task force, mental health response teams and other social programs which would seek to prevent crimes before they take place.

Our society should be one of compassion, care, strategic planning and interaction to support all of it's members not one where force and punishment are used as tools to temporary solve problems.

We're calling on all levels of Canadian government to acknowledge that our current system of "law enforcement" is flawed and ineffective. Re-direct funds from police forces into social programs.
