Mri And CT contrast Dyes Awareness
May 8, 2019

Every day seems to be a new hurdle one must jump when you become toxic like I have. Yesterday I received a call no name showed up on caller id , I answered. Asked to speak my name and date of birth. I did to be informed the CT w/o contrast I needed a prior auth for was denied. Dr who put order in received fax.

I decided to live chat with the insurance company to see why it was denied. The call I received day before never came from them. In fact I was informed order had never been put through therefore no approval or denial in system. Ill attach that ss. Dr.'s office has no idea what is going on , and frankly neither do I.

Although, I have submitted claims through FDA, EPA and CDC I decided to call CDC today to speak to someone. I explained all thats happened. I explained how I became toxic, how I tried to get the lady to stop administering contrast. I explained all of it . I then explained to her steps I have taken to try to receive help, receive medical treatment ...and whether in network of this hospital or outside... treatment will be stopped.

I then asked her if I am the only confirmed case of toxicity of gadolinium with one of my doctors, but told many are like me.... is there a possibility patients are being deliberately poisoned? Sounds like a stretch right?

Yet if you are trained how to administer these contrasts in patients, you would know what allergic reaction is. You would also be trained on the proper steps to take after one has severe reactions occuring on time of administrating dye.

No matter what I said, no matter how much I kept telling her something was wrong , that my arm was burning...she didn't stop. Until arm went numb. Then told me "don't worry, I just collapsed your vein" - before proceeding onto the next arm. Total time in MRI machine 1.5 hours! With allergic reaction occuring.

Was she having a bad day? Was what I was telling her , all normal for her to hear with those getting gadolinium injected into them?  There are so many questions I have , yet not enough answers.

The biggest question I have is , knowing I had allergic reaction on their table, knowing protocols missed / not followed. Seeing 2 different toxicology reports from 2 different labs showing toxicity... Shouldn't the hospital be trying to do everything in their power to provide me that treatment needed, wouldn't it be smarter to keep my alive?

If I heard this from someone else it was happening to, I admit I would be skeptical. My first thoughts would be , that is insane. No way could that be actually happening. There has to be more to this story... If only, that was the case, I wish every day to stop this rollercoaster of hell I am on. The disapointment is like no other, but seeing the disapointment in your husband and kids as well...is even worse.

There are so many like me. If you are one - reading this. Keep records of everything, do live chats, do emails, leave a paper trail. Eventually , that paper trail will be what helps you the most.
