Repatriate Dr Aafia Siddiqui to Pakistan
Repatriate Dr Aafia Siddiqui to Pakistan
The Issue
This plea is a call to the undeniable humanitarian conscience within all of us. Dr. Aafia Siddiqui is a highly qualified Pakistani National who has been illegally abducted by the US Government and wrongfully sentenced for a crime she did not commit.
Over the past 10 years during her illegal incarceration in prisons both inside and outside the US, Dr. Siddiqui has been subject to a large array of gruesome terror tactics including; strip
search, sexual assault, battery, and endless forms of psychological torture.
Our plea on behalf of Dr. Siddiqui is to request for her repatriation to Pakistan under available treaties: so that she can serve the remainder of her sentence with dignity on her own soil and have the comfort
of being close to her family and loved ones.
We acknowledge the pressures, constraints, and expectations which are placed on representatives of the Pakistan Government both domestically and in light of the complex Global Geo-Political situation. In support of our call for the repatriation of Dr. Siddiqui, the High Court of Sindh has already ordered to explore ways and means and make efforts towards a bilateral
agreement between Pakistan and the United States of America.
We together with the family of Dr Aafia Siddiqui and the global Aafia movement whole
heartedly support and express solidarity with Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s request for repatriation.
