AKIEL DENKINS FAMILY DESERVES THEIR DAY IN COURT, HELP US GET THE RIGHT TO A FAIR TRIAL.

The Issue

Akiel Denkins was shot and killed by a Raleigh police officer February 29, 2016. There are MANY discrepancies in his case. Even with all of the facts, the District Attorney decided not to indict the officer. We deserve our day in court to plead our case for Akiel. Give us our chance to fight! There were 7 shots fired at Akiel, some ricochet lower than two feet from the ground. All of Akiel's gunshot wounds were either from the back or the side. It was easy to use the media to manipulate the public because Akiel had a criminal record. Reguardless of the fact, he's a human being. He was a son, a brother, a father, a friend! He was special to a lot of people, and we all demand justice. My brothers body was handcuffed while laying in a body bag. Why? He wasn't facing the officer when he was approached behind that house so how was the officer threatened?? After being shot, his right arm was shattered completely. Left arm was pulled out of the socket somehow. Did they handcuff a dead man or was he killed after being cuffed. These are things I NEED to know! They had my brother laying out in the sun almost 6 hours before he was moved and my mother STILL couldn't see him for 48 hours. She called back and forth and still couldn't see her son  until AFTER holding a press conference with the NAACP. Seeing my brother for the first time at the funeral home was the hardest experience in life. He was just 24 years old. My very first friend! The city made us tare down memorial after memorial. Us knowing all the while, something is wrong! Someone needs to hear the facts of this case. My brother can no longer speak for himself, for that WE NEED TO BE HEARD! I dont know what to do with all of this pain. Help me, sign my petition so I can use it to fight for my brother! So WE can finally be heard! NO JUSTICE NO PEACE!!
