Call for the FED and SEC to look into influencers promoting pump and dump cryptocurrency

The Issue

Many famous celebrities and influencers have been using their platforms to promote different types of pump and dump cryptocurrencies. A common way is for the creator of the crypto to reach out to certain influencers and offer them a role as an ambassador for the coin. The influencer is typically not transparent with their following when promoting the coin. They claim that it’ll make you rich and that it’s such a good idea. The influencer is often times paid with coins of that crypto which they later sell once enough of their followers put in enough money for them to get out, causing the crypto to plummet and many of the investors are left with lost money. There is zero transparency most of the time and many uneducated people are losing money because their favorite influencers are telling them that it’s such a good idea and that it’ll make them rich.
