To study the medicinal properties of foods or supplements, you’ll have to pay the government millions. If any medicinal properties are found, you’ll have to spend billions. This will stop such research dead in its tracks, and we’ll have only drugs for our health. Help us get Congress to stop it!

For years the FDA has said that there isn’t enough research on supplements for the government to allow them to be used as medicines.

Now the agency has released a “guidance document” stating that anyone who wants to research the healing properties of supplements must pay $2.3 million to the government. If the research is successful, it will turn the supplement into a drug. As a drug, it will have to be taken through the FDA approval process—which costs billions of dollars, on average.

Never mind that supplements, being natural, cannot be patented. This is important because no one can afford to spend billions to get approval of non-patentable substances.

If this stands, no one will dare to do any research on the medicinal uses of food or supplements. Insiders tell us that planned research is already being dropped.

Bottom line: If you study supplements, they will no longer be available as supplements. Natural remedies will no longer be available to doctors and consumers.
