FDA Guidelines: Energy Drinks

FDA Guidelines: Energy Drinks

Countless ads are targeting the youth to consume energy drinks which offer nothing other than a boost of caffeine along with being loaded with additives that are terrible and or unknown to how they truly affect health.
People should only consume 100mgs of caffeine daily, which can be easily over done with just coffee however the targeted audience of minors and the extra additives make it very crucial for further inspection.
The FDA hasn't and needs to establish a guideline in terms of health and safety as there is a large percentage of people under 18/16/14 who consume it regularly.
I feel there's truly a deep void in where the moral obligation lies in regulation.
As I mentioned companies targeting youth with terms like "Gamer Fuel" and pictures of teens drinking them on display, as manipulative form of social pressure and acceptance. Which is what most teens want.
Seeing an end display in Walmart with Red bull collaborating with "League of Legends" as a filter for that youth. It's not just League or Red Bulls fault but they are showing us that we need to do something about it.
All this talk about infrastructure, the youth of this planet must be protected. The youth of this nation is it's infrastructure.
I'm not biased, I've had 2 and sometimes more daily since I was 14. I myself have an addictive personality and just like most kids that are lured to it, it became a crutch which people like to coin phrase as a bad habit.
It's easy to fall into and hard to get out of, there needs to be more regulatory guidelines for ages to protect the infrastructure of our future.
