FCPS should stop making teachers use Schoology. As a student, I can confirm that most of us don’t like using Schoology and a lot of our teachers and administrators don’t know how to use it. Teachers tell us that they don’t even know what they’re doing when it comes to Schoology, so why immediately give them something without educating them about it first? Some teachers can also agree that they would like to use Classroom again. FCPS claims that Schoology is easier and more volatile than Classroom but most of the students and teachers have no clue what’s going on with our grades.

Something is clearly wrong and nobody is doing anything about it or telling us anything. Lately, students have been claiming that their assignments aren’t on Schoology and some of them have been graded incorrectly. This needs to be stopped, it makes all of the staff, administrators, and the FCPS Board of Education look very unprofessional. Also, the Chromebooks provided for us by the school have Classroom programmed into it so why aren’t we using it? Google Classroom was easily accessed from our phones as well, all we needed was the class code.

Most of us can agree that going back to Google Classroom would benefit everyone for the better and we wouldn’t have to go through nearly as many “technical difficulties” like we currently do just by using Schoology. I hope Frederick County Public Schools can educate the teachers and administrators a lot more about Schoology because the students aren’t having it any more.
