FBHS Grand Alumni Association: Gawing every 3 years ang Alumni Homecoming, 3 batches ang magiging hosts.
The Issue
Ipakita nating tayo ay pabor dito. Ayon sa GAAI President, Mr. Benedict Baniqued, pag-aaralan ito at pag-uusapan. Iparinig natin ang ating boses.
Dito nagsimula ang lahat:
AN OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT, MR. BENEDICT BANIQUED AND TO THE FBHS GRAND ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
August 25, 2013
Dear Mr. President,
Good day. I am writing to raise a proposal to you and to the whole community of the FBHS Grand Alumni Association. As you know, our group, Batch 1996, is a very new addition to this organization. And being such, we are seeing everything with fresh eyes. We are witnessing how this year’s host batch is struggling to keep up with a very demanding and expensive Grand Alumni Homecoming. Most likely, this happens every year. It is a given that this event is very essential in building strong ties within our community, but looking at how things are, we feel that it is high time to make adjustments. Raising 300,000-500,000 pesos for a single event is a big undertaking. Not only is it extravagant to be held annually, it is very taxing for the group tasked to “live-up” to what others have done in the past.
We would like to propose the following:
1. That the Alumni Homecoming be held every 3 years.
2. That 3 batches will be hosts to the event and share the responsibilities and expenses.
We feel that with the above suggestions, there would be more time to prepare and raise funds, less struggle on the part of the hosts, but still constant to the objective of camaraderie and fellowship of the Alumni.
Thank you for your time and again, this is just a proposal. We hope that you see this as a positive assurance that Batch 96 is all for unity and all for enriching our organization.
Warm regards,
Charisse Almonte-Yap
President, Batch 1996

Reply of Mr. Benedict B. Baniqued:
Thank you very much for this letter Ms. Charisse Almonte-Yap. . Rest assured that this will be discussed in our next meeting. The decision to address this proposal lies not just in the hands of the Alumni Association but in the hands of the Representative-Presidents as well. There might be different views involved in this especially in the "hosting" itself. It is my view that the hosting doesn't really have to be very expensive but standards being set for each hosting is always dependent on the host Batch itself. We are also aware of the problem of the host Batch and that is why we are also thinking of ways on how we could possibly support them. We are going to take this proposal seriously but there are things that we should consider before finally arriving at whatever answer to this suggestion. Thanks very much for your continued support and this suggestion is well taken.
