Could the University of Arkansas Razorback Cross Country & Track department and the many Razorback fans request that the U of A buy the 144-acre Markham Hill property for preservation so our champion teams can continue training up there in this sanctuary away from civilization? The U of A already owns Joy Pratt Markham's 63 acres on the NW corner adjacent to this property, which the U of A has preserved as Joy requested when she willed the land to them. The Markham Hill Preserve would then be reunited into 207 acres. Could the U of A School of Art, the City of Fayetteville's art community, and the Walton Family Foundation request that they together buy the property to repurpose the Pratt Inn as art studios and an art exhibition hall? Could the U of A science departments and Fayetteville School Board request the U of A and City buy the 144-acre property for a nearby outdoor lab for research of wildlife, trees, plants, birds, insects, springs, geology, and archeology? Could the Arkansas Archeology Survey and Native American residents and groups request that the U of A, City, and conservation groups buy the land to preserve and show respect for the long-ago Native American habitation on Markham Hill? Who has influence with the U of A, the City, the Walton Family Foundation, and various local and state conservation groups to discuss these things with them? This could be a joint conservation project with the U of A, the City, The Nature Conservancy of Arkansas, and local conservation groups. We need people of influence volunteering to make these requests for us. If you can, thank you!
