Why this petition matters

Started by Brandon Portillo

Gender-neutral housing provides comfort, safety, and a sense of inclusivity to LGBTQ+ identifying students on campus. Many colleges across the country have implemented a Gender-Neutral housing program for their undergraduate students. It's time that Boston College follows in their footsteps and makes gender-neutral housing available to students, especially LGBTQ+ identifying students.

What is gender-neutral housing?

Gender-neutral housing places no restrictions on student housing, specifically traditional gender binary restrictions. This means that people of all gender identities and expressions can live together. This provides a safe and inclusive environment for all people.

Why BC?

Boston College is a home for so many different people. It should feel like a home for every single person on its campus, regardless of gender identity, race, sexual orientation, etc. The traditional housing system is archaic, heteronormative, and limits the Boston College experience for many students. Help bring change to Boston College. Help make our college a home for everyone.
