WE WANT MORE AND BETTER VEGAN FOOD OPTIONS IN AREAS OTHER THAN THE EASTERN SUBURBS
The issue
If you weren't aware, veganism is one of the fastest-growing communities in the world. With over 500,000 Australian's making the shift and growing, FAST - there is a demand for a bigger and better range of vegan options in our supermarkets, restaurants and cafes and not just in the Eastern Suburbs. For the majority of us in the Western, Southern and rural areas it is difficult to find affordable and tasty vegan alternatives in our local area. We are getting better, but not good enough. If we want vegan fast food, if we want vegan Indian, if we want vegan Lebanese, we must drive to the Eastern Suburbs and that just isn't good enough for hopeful beginners who need an EASY transition. I made the shift 6 weeks ago, I am in a considerable lucky position as I work from home as an entrepreneur. So I, unlike a lot of Australians have the luxury to cook from scratch and travel to different places to buy a variety of different things to cook with. But when I am tired, craving a McDonald's Sausage and Egg Muffin, I want to be able to run to my local grocer or Cafe and be welcomed with a variety of options to serve my cravings, not just a smashed pea burger patty. We need variety. After all, the majority of the public believe being vegan is just 'too hard' or 'too expensive' and that's because we are not putting in that effort to DEMAND an easier, more affordable change. Change starts with us as a community. So stand with me and show the market that there is a DEMAND for animal-free products in areas other than just the Eastern Suburbs.
